MAYOR JAMES BUTTS COMMEMORATES ‘1500 OR NOTHIN’ DAY’ ON JANUARY 15

With the many citywide developments led by Mayor James Butts, the city of Inglewood has progressively become one of America’s most popular tourist destinations. Following SoFi Stadium, YouTube Theater, and the Kia Forum, the city of Inglewood celebrated the outstanding curriculum of 1500 Sound Academy and its new expansion plan on January 15, 2023. They are currently working on the architectural completion of a brand new studio: Volume Studios, to be located adjacent to the academy. Volume Studios is the newest addition to the city’s innovative landscape. This high-end arts-based school and production facility was founded by Grammy-winning producers James Fauntleroy and Larrance Dopson. This pioneering academy has state-of-the-art technology along with amazing opportunities for students. Also, their program provides a number of workshops that include songwriting, music production, and the business of music.

Celebrity recording artists El Debarge and Ty Dolla Sign performed live before a large crowd of attendees celebrating “1500 or Nothin’ Day” honoring the 1500 Sound Academy. In addition, city officials gathered to commemorate the theme and purpose of 1500 Sound Academy. Mayor James Butts spoke about 1500 Sound Academy as well as its innovation and significance for students in the city of Inglewood. The mayor also highlighted its unparalleled positive contributions to tech, curriculum, and the arts. He also shared his thoughts on how 1500 Sound Academy is a great help for students:

“1500 SOUND ACADEMY IS FEEDING PEOPLE FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES BECAUSE THEY’RE TEACHING THEM HOW TO GET THEIR OWN,” MAYOR BUTTS SAID.

During the festive event, Mayor James Butts presented an official city resolution to co-founders James Fauntleroy, Larrance Dopson, and business partner Twila True acknowledging January 15 as “1500 or Nothin’ Day” in the city of Inglewood. After the presentation, Mayor Butts gathered with media to further describe how 1500 Sound Academy has been investing in the property of Inglewood to complete its official architectural launch. He mentioned that Twila True and 1500 Sound Academy started investing in the city of Inglewood at its current location for this day to come several years ago. This occurred prior to the emergence of SoFi Stadium and other prominent businesses in the city. The mayor voiced the true impact of Inglewood’s 1500 Sound Academy:

“TWILA TRUE AND 1500 SOUND ACADEMY BEGAN INVESTING IN THE CITY OF INGLEWOOD WHEN WE WERE AN EMBRYO LONG BEFORE PEOPLE KNEW WHAT WE COULD BECOME. IT’S SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT TO HAVE A FACILITY LIKE THIS THAT TEACHES YOUNG PEOPLE IN A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY FASHION… IT TEACHES PEOPLE HOW TO BUILD AND SUSTAIN THEIR OWN LIVES AND BUILD OTHERS UP,” MAYOR BUTTS VOICED.

Through the outstanding leadership of Mayor James Butts and his vision to create great business partnerships, the city of Inglewood is living up to its moniker as a bona fide and exceptional city of champions.
